It is able to neutralize small amounts of added acid or base, thus maintaining the pH of the solution relatively stable. This is important for processes and/or reactions which require specific and stable pH ranges

In swimming pools and spas, PH Buffer helps maintain pH levels of the water and helps prevent wild pH swings. It will raise the Total Alkalinity in pools and spa pools. This often is the first product added to start the treatment of the pool or spa.
