Opinion Liquid Chlorine Bleach

OPINION finds widespread applications in Food Production, Dairying, the Brewing and Soft Drink industries, Abattoirs, Poultry and Fish processing areas, in fact anywhere anti-bacterial properties are needed to ensure maintenance of hygienic standards.

Quick Facts:

  • Is used where anti-backeterial prooperties are needed to ensure maintenance of hygienic standards
  • Can be used in drains, refuse areas and general purpose stain removal on bathroom areas
  • Used for fabric bleaching and chemical sanitation in laundry processing

Instructions For Use:

Laundries:

OPINION is used at between 1-3 mls per kg of dry linen at 55-60°C (50-150 ppm chlorine). It is dosed after the main wash is drained.
Bleaching should be followed by 2 or 3 rinses (until <5ppm chlorine) then followed with a sour. The final sour should have no chlorine present.

Reclaimed washes:

On reclaim linen and for heavy bleaching on stubborn stains, use between and 15 mls per kg at 65°C.
Antichlor: where very high doses of chlorine have been used in reclaim washes, GAMMA may be used as an antichlor at 0.1 mls per kg in the rinse prior to souring. To avoid fabric damage, use of an antichlor is not a routine procedure as chlorine should be eliminated by adding an extra rinse.
Ensure there is no residual chlorine in the final wash zone.

Hard surface sanitising:

Make up an appropriate use solution in cold water, apply by mop, swab, low pressure non-atomising spray, or soaking techniques. Allow solution to remain on surface for 2 to 5 minutes before rinsing off.
Typical Solution Strengths are: General Purpose Sanitising: 2 mls per litre of water. Stain Removal and Odour Control: 12 mls per litre of water.

Use Concentrations:

Opinion contains a minimum of 12% available chlorine at manufacture.

Chlorine concentrate Guidelines of Opinion when packed:
1 ml/litre Opinion produces 125 ppm chlorine in water.
5 mls/litre Opinion produces 625 ppm chlorine in water.
10 mls/litre Opinion produces 1250 ppm chlorine in water
40mls/litre Opinion produces 5000 ppm chlorine in water.
Allowing for loss of chlorine on storage, normally allow 1ml/litre for 100 ppm chlorine. (i.e. for 1 ppm allow 0.01 ml/litre)
For sanitising use 200 ppm chlorine (approx 2 mls/litre). For stain removal and odour control use 1200 ppm (approx. 12 mls /litre).
Use Temperature: 20°C(Ambient) to 65°C Note: chlorine will be released much quicker in warm water and be more effective, but the concentration will also more drop rapidly.

Fruit & Vegetable Washing:

Make up an appropriate ready to use solution in cold water to achieve 50-100ppm available chlorine. Soak items in solution for 2 to 5 minutes then remove items and allow to drain. Ensure regular water replenishment and checking of chlorine concentration, to remove vegetable soils and to maintain required level of sanitation. Add Opinion as necessary to maintain 50-100 ppm chlorine. Note: The chlorine sanitising solution should be slightly higher temperature than the fruits & vegetables.

Opinion, as with all sodium hypochlorite base products, will degrade rapidly in use or when exposed to heat or sunlight. It is therefore advisable to only make up solutions for immediate use, and to rotate stock using oldest stock first.
